Autumn Ashtanga Immersion

2 Week Ashtanga Yoga Immersion

Dates: September 30 - October 11


I want to give you the opportunity to experience regular classes, and in the way it would be taught traditionally - where Ashtanga is practiced (eventually) from memory allowing the teacher to give each student assistance on their individual practice. This style of class is called a ‘Mysore’ style class - named after the city of Mysore in India where this practice was first taught to westerners and I will be running a two week program from Sept 30th - Oct 11th. 

I can understand students might be intimidated by Mysore style classes but it's a misunderstanding that you have to be ‘advanced’ to attend and once you get over the initial apprehension I think it is the best way to own your own practice and explore the deeper elements of the Ashtanga yoga tradition.

For beginners you do not have to completely know the sequence before you come. A regular practice is a great way to commit the sequence to memory, with prompts more than instruction for the sequence, and with the repetition of daily classes over the two weeks you'll find yourself learning much faster than you might in a led class.

Experienced students will benefit from being able to further your practice with assistance on an individual level throughout the immersion, and give you the opportunity to experience and establish a more regular practice (if you don’t have one already)

For all students, it's a great way to give yourself a yoga boost before winter :)

Please note the length of the class will vary by person according to their own practice.
